What is the blessing road??
“The Blessing Road” is what I have come to call the road that leads us to a place where we can find peace beyond comprehension and joy unspeakable. It is a place where we are not ruled by our fears, but instead have a profound satisfaction and excitement with life that overshadows all the trials and sufferings that we go through. I have called it a road because it is a path that we travel, and never a destination at which we arrive. Since this road seems to elude so many people, I have decided to share some of my personal experiences in the hope that it will somehow help someone else to navigate their way down this road. There are always warning signs and guard rails. We just have to learn to recognize them. Many times the road leads through horrible, frightening places, but I have learned that it is not so much what we go through in life that determines our “blessed state”, but rather how we choose to react to what we go through.
Is peace really possible????
Is there a map to show me the way?
I am thrilled to say, "yes" it is possible!
And "yes" there is a map to show us the way!
Hello! My name is Pamela Plunkett. I have no special education or training to make me an expert in anything. All I have are the knowledge and experience I have gained from the battles I have fought on the road of my own life. (The school of hard knocks as my daddy used to call it. LOL!) Experience has taught me that many times, instead of walking on a path toward blessings, we are actually walking in a direction leading away from blessings – ignoring the warning signs that are there. Having faced panic attacks, children with drug addictions, Meniere’s disease, spousal abuse, and many other problems of life, I have seen over and over how my own choices affect and even determine which “state” I dwell in – whether it is peace and contentment, or constant fear and anxiety. I have learned that it is possible to stay on “The Blessing Road” no matter what our circumstances may be.
I have moved from a place of going to bed at night crying and begging God to take me out of this world, to a place where I am more excited than ever about the future.
Having been raised in church, by a very godly mother and father who loved each other and loved their children, it was natural for me to turn to the Bible when my life seemed to be falling apart. I began to diligently seek out what I could do to change the miserable state that I was living in. Little did I know then how important that pursuit would become. I am happy to say that I have moved from a place of going to bed at night crying and begging God to take me out of this world, to a place where I am more excited than ever about the future. Living every day with an awareness of God’s presence and purpose for me is the greatest, most exciting and fulfilling thing that I have ever known.
Changing your course will change your life!
In the coming months, I will be sharing more of the struggles and victories I faced on this journey. Hopefully, you can travel to the blessings beyond just like I did. It was looking back and realizing that every battle brought its own new victory that allowed me to see “The Blessing Road”. The path was hard, but… the blessings attained from it were far greater than the struggles. I have come to believe that without hard times, we would not experience the good times. I can honestly say that every struggle has been worth it to be able to take another step down “The Blessing Road”.
Sometimes the path is clear, though not always easy.
Sometimes we feel like we are walking in the dark.
As we travel this path, we will be exploring the obstacles that we face in our pursuit of “The Blessing Road” – and there are many! The Bible gives us numerous guidelines on how to find peace, joy, contentment, and freedom from fear, but it is easy to miss the “warning signs” and lose sight of the “guardrails” if we are not looking for them. It is my desire to examine every insight we are given to overcome the trials that we face. There will be good times, and there will be trying times, but as long as we stay on the road, our journey will be successful.
